Form and Formlessness

I'm struggling to balance the boundry between form (architecture and landscape) with abstraction (emphasis on the surface of the two dimensional canvas through paint and color). While I was in Italy I found myself photographing sections of walls where layers of paint created rich textures. In a sense I am trying to embed the memory of the landscape into the surface of these walls.
